About Us:

The BSC - Water Sports Centre (Biwako Sailing Club - Water Sports Centre) represents a unique opportunity to discover Japanese culture whilst enjoying a host of water sport activities.
 
The campus is just 40 minutes away by train from central Kyoto and is located on the shores of Lake Biwa in Shiga Prefecture. It is surrounded by spectacular mountain ranges that in the winter, offers skiing and snowboarding with hiking and camping during autumn and summer. You will be living and learning about Japan in one of the most scenic unspoilt places in the country.
 
Our programs are specifically catered for those looking to study abroad on a short term course, or who are looking to improve their job opportunities through developing their knowledge and experience of  Japan. We also cater for businesses looking to gain a greater understanding of Japanese business and culture.
 
Each program offers participants the opportunity to learn and participate in practical Japanese language, communication, culture and lifestyle programs in a bi-lingual setting (Japanese and English). Participants will not only have the opportunity to enjoy the unique Japanese program content, but also be able to participate in water sports such as canoeing, sailing, windsurfing, water skiing, wake boarding and swimming in a safe and professionally supervised environment.

Some Interesting Facts About BSC:
 
    •  BSC Water Sport Centre was first established as a Water Sports School in 1973.
    • The most famous person to graduate from BSC is Mr.Roh Moo Hyun, the  President of South Korea. He received his sailing Instructor Certificate in 1983.
    • BSC received its Environmental Management ISO 14001 Certificate in 2002. Number: JQA-EM 2852
